A minimal demonstration of asynchrony-induced 'curvature blindness' (see Takahashi, 2017; Cunningham, Heaton, & Hummel, 2021).

The demo will present stimuli at 6 frequencies in ascending order (assuming a 60 Hz monitor). At each frequency, you will see four sinusoids segmented at different points along the waveform. At some frequencies, the sinusoid that is segmented at points of maximal curvature (peaks/troughs) will appear to be a triangle wave. The illusion will be at its strongest when fixating on the cross, and should be resolved by looking directly at a sinusoid.
